Years ago I had a friend with six children who fought every morning over what should be for breakfast. “I want cereal!” said one. “No, I want pancakes,” said another. Chaos, frustration, and hurt feelings reigned. That is until my friend came up with a simple, effective idea.
She assigned a breakfast meal to each day of the week. Mondays were oatmeal. Tuesdays were eggs, etc. She wrote the list on a paper and posted it in the kitchen where all could see. The kids were mollified, knowing that their favorite food wouldn’t be passed over.
